After Sony and Marvel failed to come to a deal over the rights to Spider-Man, the web-slinging hero has been removed from the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the time being. In losing Spidey, Marvel is in a tough spot. Not only are they losing one of their most iconic heroes, but also his equally important counterparts: the villains. Not to mention the timeless love story between Peter and MJ, unrivalled in the world of comics and just hitting its stride in the newest installment: Spider-Man: Far From Home. Maybe scarier than the relationships that will be cut short is those that will be resurrected, just to be cut short again. In other words, could this mean another Spider-Man origin story?

Marvel’s plans for the future are also being put in jeopardy. The next Avengers (possibly The Young Avengers), was supposed to include Spider-Man in some form, but what now? As for the current MCU Spidey, Tom Holland seems committed to the role, maybe for years and years to come. But, under which studio he works–Marvel or Sony–seems of no consequence to him.

The end of the current franchise would also mean that a gold mine of storylines from the Spider-Man comics would go untold, like his Civil War thread, leaving us wondering at would could have been, especially in the context of the last movie’s ending, which brought back J. Jonah Jameson and revealed Spider-Man’s identity to the public. The abrupt ending wouldn’t just affect one franchise, but much of Marvel’s expansive cinematic universe would have to be rewritten. Not to mention the money. Will the MCU survive the loss of Spider-Man? Find out!

Stranger Things is one of the biggest hit shows to debut in recent memory. It’s taken Netflix by storm, as legions of fans eagerly await the next season so they can see what’s in store for Eleven and the gang. However, it may not be as original as you might think. In fact, the whole plot of Stranger Things actually comes directly from an episode of the X-Files. After all, both shows deal with the paranormal and all things spooky. The episode in question focuses on a young girl being experimented on, in order to develop supernatural abilities and be used as a weapon. Sound familiar?

In this video, we’ll break down all the similarities between these two series. It’s not just that one episode that links these shows together. The characters are comparable, the settings are similar, and the stories appear to be almost identical.
