تعتبر إسكتلندا من الدول القليلة فى العالم التى ليس لها نشيد وطنى الا أنهم بستخدمون أغنية بعنوان (flower of scotland (خلال الإحتفالات الرياضية والرسمية

الزى القومى للرجال بإسكتلندا هو التنورة الإسكتلندية والتى تعتبر غريبة بالنسبة لباقى سكان العالم ولكنها بالغة الأهمية لدى الإسكتلنديين حيث تختلف نقوش التنورة وألوانها من قبيلة لأخرى لتمثل لكل رجل هوية الخاصة فتدل على مدينتة ومن أى عائلة ينحدر

اجرت إسكتلندا إستفتاء شعبي عام لأستقلال عن بريطانيا العظمى فى عام 2014 وكانت النتيجة 55.42% التاج البريطانى مقابل نسبة 44.58 % كانت تؤيد الإستقلال

المحارب الإسكتلندي القديم) وليام والاس ) كان صاحب أول دعوة لإستقلال إسكتلندا عن بريطانيا منذ ما يقرب من 700 عام والذى خلد الفيلم الشهير (braveheart) قصته والمثير للدهشة أن مقاطعة ( رينفروشاير ) والتى هى مسقط رأس المحارب الشجاع رفضت الإستقلال عن بريطانيا فى الإستفتاء الشعبى بنسبة أصوات بلغت 52.8%.
