عبير صبرى ممثلة مصرية من مواليد عام 1971 بالقاهرة، درست في كلية الحقوق بجامعة عين شمس. دخلت الوسط الفني كمقدمة برامج تليفزيونية إلى أن التقطها المخرج (علي عبدالخالق) للتمثيل في فيلم (الناجون من النار) مع (عمرو عبدالجليل) و(طارق لطفي) عام 1994، وكان التعاون الثاني لها مع المخرج (علي عبدالخالق) أيضاً في فيلم (عتبة الستات) الذي قام ببطولته (نبيلة عبيد) و(فاروق الفيشاوي). عملت بعدة أفلام أخرى قبل إعتزالها المؤقت بسبب ارتدائها الحجاب،
وإتجهت وقتها لتقديم البرامج الدينية، ولكن عادت من جديد بعد فترة إلى شاشة السينما عام 2010 من خلال عدة افلام مثل (أحاسيس) و(نور عيني) و(عصافير النيل).
شقيقة عبير صبرى هى الإعلامية المصرية مروة صبري، مقدمة برنامج «عيشها صح» على قناة «صدى البلد»، وقالت إنها تتعلم من شقيقتها الكبرى الفنانة عبير صبري كل شئ،
مشيرة إلى أنها دائما تشجعها، وتقدم لها النصائح التي تفيدها في عملها.
وأضافت إنها رفضت الكثير من العروض لدخولها مجال التمثيل،
مرجعة ذلك إلى حبها الشديد لمهنتها كمذيعة لدرجة العشق، مما يجعلها لا ترغب فى امتهان أى شىء آخر، هذا بالإضافة إلى نصائح عبير لها بعدم خوض هذه التجربة،
وذلك نظرا لصعوبتها من كافة النواحى النفسية والعصبية، وكذلك للمخاطر التى تواجهها الممثلات من شائعات أو غيرها، حيث ترفض عبير أن ترى شقيقتها الصغرى تتعرض لمثل هذه المخاطر.

– ما حقيقة ما تردد حول مرورك بأزمة نفسية والتي على أثرها اتخذت قرارك بخلع الحجاب؟
(تقول بعصبية شديدة): هذا أمر شخصي وبعدين من قال للصحافة أني أمر بحالة نفسية سيئة؟

ولماذا تربط وسائل الإعلام بين خلع الحجاب وارتدائه ووجود أزمة نفسية؟؟ أنا أتذكر أني بعد أن ارتديت الحجاب طرح علي أحدهم نفس هذا التساؤل المستفز وهذه حريتي الشخصية وليس لأحد دخل بها.
