علي الحجار (4 أبريل 1954) وضعه قدره في طريق الموسيقار العبقري الراحل (بليغ حمدي) وظل يتدرب معه حوالى سنتين
حتى اختار له ( بليغ حمدى ) كلمات الشاعر الغنائي الكبير (عبد الرحيم منصور) أغنية (على قد ماحبينا) لتكون البداية التي قدمه بها للجمهور في حفل ليلة رأس السنة عام 1977
تزوج على الحجار مرتين وكانت المرة
الأولى من الفنانة مشيرة اسماعيل
وانجب منها إبنته مشيرة
وبعد انفصال على الحجار عن الفنانة مشيرة اسماعيل تزوج السيدة هدى طلعت
، كان (إبراهيم الحجار) والد على الحجار ذو الأصول الصعيدية هو آخر من حمل لقب عائلة (الحجار) ، وكان هو أول من نزح من آل الحجار المشهورين بأصواتهم الجميلة من محافظة بني سويف إلى القاهرة
في بدايات القرن العشرين ليتقدم للإمتحان بالإذاعة المصرية لاعتماده كمطرب ، وبعد غنائه أمام لجنة الإمتحان التي ابدت إعجابها بجمال صوته أصر رئيس اللجنة ( مصطفى بك رضا )
والذي كان في هذا الوقت يشغل منصب عميد معهد فؤاد الأول للموسيقى العربية ” أصرعلى أن يلتحق إبراهيم الحجار بالمعهد لكى يدرس الموسيقى .
ورصد له منحة شهرية من المعهد قيمتها ثلاثة جنيهات ونصف بالإضافة إلى جنيه آخر كمنحة منه شخصيآ حتى يستطيع إبراهيم الحجار الإقامة في القاهرة والتفرغ للدراسة .
وبعد عشر سنوات من اعتماده كمطرب بالإذاعة المصرية قامت ثورة يوليو عام 1952 وعين أحد رجال الثورة مديرآ للإذاعة وكان اسمه ( محمد حسن الشجاعى )
وكان قد قرر إعادة ترتيب طريقة العمل بالإذاعة المصرية .فقرر فصل بعض المطربين المعتمدين بها وكان منهم إبراهيم الحجار الذي طلب منه تغيير لقب “الحجار”
ولم يكن إبراهيم الحجار يعرف كيف يجامل أوينافق رؤسائه ورفض بحدة تغيير لقب عائلته ، ليجد نفسه بعدها بدون عمل أو مصدر رزق كاف .
وفي منزل العائلة المتواضع بحي إمبابة الشعبي بالقاهرة والمكون من غرفة واحدة ليس بها ماء أو كهرباء ولد (علي إبراهيم الحجار) في الرابع من إبريل عام 1954
و توجب على هذه الأسرة أن تواجه بصبر وضعاً اقتصادياً مزرياً بعد ما فقد الأب (إبراهيم) عمله في الإذاعة المصرية وهكذا توجب عليه أن يرضى بالعمل
في الكورس تارة وتارة أخرى يضطر للعمل كمدرس موسيقى بملجأ للأيتام بمرتب ثلاثة جنيهات شهرية
