The quest to climb Hkakabo Razi in the remote area of northern Myanmar was conceived by Hilaree O’Neill and Mark Jenkins and their yearning for an “anti-Everest” expedition. In the fall of 2014, Hilaree O’Neill, the expedition leader, and Mark Jenkins, Cory Richards, Renan Ozturk, and Emily Harrington set out to climb this formidable peak and determine whether it is the highest peak in Southeast Asia by standing on top with a GPS. What followed was a demanding journey full of setbacks that would push these five climbers to their limits emotionally, physically, and mentally. Hear Hilaree O’Neill talk about this epic expedition and being taken to “the point of no return.”

The Bubble Nebula: Winds & Radiation from a Massive Star [UHD]

This Ultra-High Definition visualization of the Bubble Nebula begins with a ground-based view that encompasses the glowing cloud. The high-energy light from the massive O star, BD +60°2522, is responsible for ionizing the entire region. The virtual camera flies through the foreground stars and approaches the central bubble imaged by Hubble. The massive star continuously sheds some of its outer layers in a mass-loss wind, which has blown a bubble of gas seven light-years across. The video’s three-dimensional perspective emphasizes the extended nature of the structure and the fact that BD +60°2522 is not located at the center. The pressure inside the bubble is able to expand more rapidly in the directions away from the surrounding nebula. The computer model incorporates both scientific and artistic interpretation of the data. In particular, distances are significantly compressed.

صدر مؤخراً تقرير طبي حول واقعة وفاة النجمة الهندية الشابة براتيوشا بانيرجي التي انتحرت بشنق نفسها بمروحة في سقف منزلها في الأول من أبريل.
العديد من “النظريات” أحاطت بوفاتها المفاجئة، حيث اتهم البعض صديقها “راهول راج سينغ” وعلاقته مع سيدة أخرى كسبب لوفاتها.
وادعي العديد من الأصدقاء ووالديها أن الممثلة لم تنتحر ولكن في الواقع قتلها راهول.
ومع ذلك، كشفت معاينة الجثة أن وفاتها كانت بسبب الاختناق،
مؤكدة أنها حالة انتحار.
ومع ذلك، كشف تقرير طبي النهائي بعد ظهر السبت 23 ابريل، أن كمية كبيرة من الكحول قد وجدت في دم براتيوشا،
وهو الأمر الذي يحسن من موقف صديقها راهول ويساعده لتبرئة ساحته.
