Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner is one of the most popular characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Don’t get us wrong, Edward Norton was by no means terrible as the character, but it’s fair to say most fans of the MCU are happy with how things turned out.
Banner is, of course, the alter-ego of the Hulk and a core member of the Avengers – which makes him a very high-profile character whom even the most casual movie fans are, at the very least, familiar with.
But there are some facts about Ruffalo’s version of the character that only the most die-hard fans know – and we’re going to take you through some of them in this video.
The facts in question are; That he’ll probably never get a solo movie, that he almost appeared in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk, that the two Hulk actors are friends in real-life, that he’s Tony Stark’s opposite (according to Mark Ruffalo), that he’s half-stripper (watch the video to understand that one), that his voice is 50% Lou Ferrigno, that Mark Ruffalo has input regarding the Hulk’s dialogue, that Bill Bixby was a major inspiration for him, that Mark Ruffalo approches the MCU like a TV series, that Mark Ruffalo considers his Hulk to be an outcast, that Mark Ruffalo actually plays the Hulk (as opposed to CGI), that Joss Whedon originally wrote the Hulk’s dialogue in the middle of filming for Avengers: Age of Ultron, that he’s had exactly two hours of screen time, that he’s appeared in multiple comic books, that there’s a good reason for Banner’s self-deprecating humour, that Bruce Banner and Natasha Romanoff could yet get together, that Mark Ruffalo has figured out the Hulk’s central conflict, that Peter David’s comic book run on Hulk influenced Mark Ruffalo, that Mark Ruffalo spoiled Avengers: Infinity War, and the fact that the line between the Hulk and Bruce Banner is starting to blur.
