The Cleveland Show was a short-lived spinoff show in the Family Guy universe. Despite that fact, the show failed to reach the success and popularity as its contemporary. However, this gives us a perfect chance to look back as most of the gags and facts are not as well remembered as those from Family Guy. There are some surprising moments in The Cleveland Show that are even more twisted in 2019. Cleveland is just the worst to his son, Junior, on the show and many of the actions he takes against his son would cause Twitter to riot if it were released today. Likewise, jokes about deportation, race and gender are also pretty intense. Some behind the scenes facts include the unusual about of cast shuffling that took place with this show. Imagine if Lisa Simpson was recast in the second season. Seth MacFarlane himself, one of the co-creators of the show, left the character of Tim behind in season 4. The premiere episodes for season 2,3 and 4 were all screened at a later date and many fans of King of the Hill are pretty resentful that Cleveland Show took that slot, cancelling the long-running show. Bob’s Burgers avenged King of the Hill a few years later and stole a lot of Cleveland’s thunder, forcing the show to move time slots and eventually get cancelled.

Welcome back to Screen Rant! Cartoons don’t typically follow the traditional rules for character arcs, aging, and logistics, but things get even more complicated when you’ve been on the air for thirty-plus years. That’s right – we’re talking about The Simpsons, everyone’s beloved yellow-skinned family. Over the years, we’ve followed the family as some wacky adventures, but there are moments, plots, and character changes that just cannot be explained!

So let’s dive in to discuss characters who disappears, some MAJOR plot holes, and stories that just kind of fell by the wayside. Bart Simpsons hasn’t evolved much in the 30 years he’s been on the air, making his love life more complicated than ever. And then there’s the smartest of the bunch, Lisa Simpson. One punchline made little sense considering the knowledge her character has. The Simpsons house is full of portraits, but during flashbacks we have to wonder how is it possible that some of these portraits still exist?!

Employment can be tough, but apparently not in Springfield where Homer seems to have a new job every single week! And the same goes for Krusty the Clown who has somehow managed to stay on the air all these years. Ned Flanders is faithful to his church, except in one episode where he shows up out of nowhere when he should be in church still! The Simpsons have had the same home for many many years — but somehow, their address has changed multiple times including different street names! What’s with animated shows and the ability to predict the future? Well…specifically Matt Groening shows. The Simpsons spent years predicting events like the Disney and Fox merger, Donald Trump being elected President, and even showcased Lady Gaga in a very similar performance to her Super Bowl halftime show five years before it actually took place. And now today, we will look at another Groening show — the cult hit Futurama. Set in the 31st Century, the show has made some BOLD predictions about our future on Earth. Some of the predictions were SPOT ON while others — not so much. So let’s hop aboard the Planet Express and decipher their factual predictions from ones that were WAY off.

Do you love Fry and other characters travel through the Tube Transport System? Well, we are well on our way to having the same type of technology transport us through some MAJOR cities. Remember Baywatch: The Movie? Yep, Futurama called that one years ago and even predicted one of its stars! There is a lot of future talk about robots in the city and while some of these are completely true, others miss the mark and are way off. Watch with us as the Planet Express travels across Earth and showcases some crazy visions of the future, including a possible title for Star Wars: Episode 9. Another predicted remake on Futurama? Shaft! And While Samuel L. Jackson is definitely returning to the role, it’s not quite the same title as we remember.
