Veterans’ Voices 2020: General Joseph Votel, U.S. Army (Ret.)

Veterans served their nation selflessly, but service sometimes weighs heavily on their mental health, and stigma can be a barrier to seeking help. With support from Google’s veteran community, a group of U.S. veterans ranging from a Google employee to a retired Admiral shared firsthand stories about the value of coming forward and asking for help.

In this video, retired General Joseph Votel, former Commander of the U.S. Central Command, says that leaders need to send a strong message that it’s ok to ask for help-regardless of level, everyone faces challenges.
