The Mario Party franchise has been around for nearly 20 years and Super Mario Party is the 11th installment in the long-running series of games. While these games are known for ruining friendships over luck-based events, we all know how fun they could be when everything’s going right. When every star just lands in front of you and you dominate every minigame, the games feel incredible, but you’ll need to learn how to be classy in defeat to truly enjoy the series. Things aren’t always going to go your way.

The thing about the minigames in the franchise is that some of them are plain ol’ weird. Now that Super Mario Party’s on store shelves, you’ll need to grow a third hand to count how many games are in the series! Luckily, you’ll only need two hands to count all the odd Mario Party minigames.

We love the Assassin’s Creed games and, when we saw the trailer for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, we were stoked. It looked so awesome and we just couldn’t wait to play it. However, we couldn’t help but think there were certain things it reminded us of and, today, we’re going to tell you about them.

When it comes to games in Ancient Greece, we loved the original God Of War franchise, so we’ll be telling you about that. We’re also going to go back to the 80’s to tell you all about Battle of Olympus and how Kid Icarus isn’t the influence you might think. We’ll also look at the similarities between Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag and Far Cry 4, since they’re both made by Ubisoft, as well as how Assassin’s Creed III may have been much like this new one. You’ll also hear about Witcher 3, Prince of Persia and how we think Nintendo’s Mario is a key influence. Mario is a video game icon and has gone through years of dealing with clones, rip-offs and copycats. These copycats not only apply to the original Super Mario Bros., but also his popular spin-offs like Mario Kart and Mario Party. Now, with the release of Super Mario Party, we can take a look back at all of the other games which attempted to copy Mario Party, but really had no success.

Sonic the Hedgehog has been long seen as Mario’s rival and another entry into their rivalry included the game Sonic Shuffle. SpongeBob Squarepants has a large collection of rushed video games featuring the yellow sponge and Spongebob: Lights Camera Pants is one of these games. In Rugrats: Scavenger Hunt, there are three board games, no minigames and not much depth to the title. Watch to see all of these rip-offs and the various ways they copied Mario Party over the years.
