Mario is a video game icon and has gone through years of dealing with clones, rip-offs and copycats. These copycats not only apply to the original Super Mario Bros., but also his popular spin-offs like Mario Kart and Mario Party. Now, with the release of Super Mario Party, we can take a look back at all of the other games which attempted to copy Mario Party, but really had no success.
Sonic the Hedgehog has been long seen as Mario’s rival and another entry into their rivalry included the game Sonic Shuffle. SpongeBob Squarepants has a large collection of rushed video games featuring the yellow sponge and Spongebob: Lights Camera Pants is one of these games. In Rugrats: Scavenger Hunt, there are three board games, no minigames and not much depth to the title. Watch to see all of these rip-offs and the various ways they copied Mario Party over the years.
