The announcement of a new gaming console is exciting and filled with months of hype. System specs, new features and launch games are just a few of the things to get pumped up for. As you get excited for the arrival of the PS5, it’s important to separate the facts from fiction so you know what to expect when the final console gets released. In the case of the PS5, there are plenty of false rumors out there and some things that look to be shockingly true!
One element that has spread across the industry is the arrival of development kits. Multiple companies have hinted they have received development kits which give you the specs and software to create official PS5 games. The development kit is the first key step to building a PS5 game library and seeing how far the games can push limits graphically. One of the biggest false rumors is the 2018 release date. With no hype or teases, it’s clear Sony has no intentions of releasing the console at any point in 2018. Following in the footsteps of the Nintendo Switch, Sony may be developing a handheld add-on to the PS5 instead of focusing on a separate handheld console. There was a leaked design of the PS5 released to the masses, but it turned out to be completely false and made up by fans. Expect Sony to place heavy focus on their VR gear and establishing themselves as the leading game developer in the VR market. Watch to see all these rumors and several others about the PS5!
