Whether it be the iconic shoot-em-up action of the Halo franchise, the nostalgic feel of catching your first Pokémon or the adrenaline rush of beating down on gods. It’s quite easy to get distracted from the Easter eggs within video games and anime series’ alike. Those with keen eyes or extensive memory may pick up on a “Hey! I’ve seen that before!” moment when they sit down to watch anime or play a game.

When it comes to Dragon Ball, Naruto or even Himouto! Umaru-Chan, one thing is for sure, there are plenty of nods and references that tie in with other video games, anime series and pop culture within it. For instance, one of the biggest fights within the Dragon Ball Super franchise was certainly Jiren vs. Goku, but the most important one that references a past video game villain is Aniraza. Who would have thought that the uncommonly known Hatchiyack would come back to eradicate the super saiyans?

Asura’s Wrath, for example, takes the epic fight and transformation tropes within popular Shonen anime and combines it with the immersion and entertaining nature of God of War and Street Fighter. Even the Pokémon series has alluded to its classic game intros someway or another within the show. Heck, even Blue, Red’s rival in the games, is strikingly similar to Gary Oak, Ash Ketchum’s rival. There are plenty more connections than just these, so be sure to be on the lookout for them when you have your next anime binge or gaming session! So here are 6 hidden connections between anime shows and video games!

10 Nickelodeon Shows That Were Cancelled For Crazy Reasons

Which cancelled Nickelodeon shows do you wish they would bring back? Subscribe to our channel: http://goo.gl/ho3Hg6

On TV, millions of kids love seeing their favorite Nicktoons and shows until one day they’ve all just disappeared. New shows come in and the others fade away like they never existed. Except for some rare cases, Nick shows do not really go out with a bang because they want children to focus on the next thing coming in. There have been ten shows that dropped off the map even though they had the fan bases and potential to last for a very long time.

Ahh! Real Monsters was a big hit for both Nick and the creators of the Rugrats, but plans for an official movie ended the series and stalled the film from ever hitting the big screen. Jimmy Neutron was a great CG success for Nick, but producing so many digital effects killed the animation studio that created it along with some ants. Salute Your Shorts could have gone on for years showcasing the hijinks of summer camp, but the show ended all because of a change in production locations. Ren and Stimpy loved to push boundaries, but fights with censors left the show on the chopping block. Zoey 101 dealt with some real life drama that forced the show to leave the air just as it was gaining massive popularity. Angry Beavers was a unique Nicktoon, but the creators were constantly battling with Nick over content, ideas, and deadlines. My Brother & Me was only 13 episodes long and the show could have lasted for numerous years thinks to the great actors and hilarious storylines. Watch to see all these shows and others that were cancelled for shocking reasons!
