Arkham Knight: Blockbuster Trailer! – CineFix Now

The biggest trailer out today is for the newest Batman video game. Very impressive – so much so that we wondered if we’d missed the news of another Batman movie! Subscribe: http://goo.gl/9AGRm

The “Arkham Knight” trailer is quite a production of motion capture, dramatic voice over, and the swelling music you’d expect of any modern cinematic tentpole film. And yet… it’s a game, not a movie, and there’s not a frame of gameplay in the entire 4 minutes.

Check out the trailer in question here: http://goo.gl/l6TGDY

Is it a sign of the times, as movies and video games constantly try to keep up with each other, match each other’s release schedules, and generate the same level of excitement? Are you a gamer? Have you played the other Arkham games? Are you looking forward to the release of Arkham Knight? Do you enjoy the cinematic trailers, or are you waiting for some gameplay footage to sink your teeth into?

And while we’re at it… What’s your pick for a video game that should become a movie? Vice versa?

Fight Club – 8 Bit Cinema

CineFix presents Fight Club retold via 8-bit (OK, this one’s mostly 16-bit) game tech. No quarters or controllers required! Subscribe to CineFix – http://goo.gl/9AGRm

8-bit Cinema “gamifies” your favorite Hollywood Blockbusters into 80’s arcade and NES inspired action!

Today we present Fight Club in the form of an 8 bit video game!

Directed by David Dutton

Music by Henry Dutton

8 Bit a.k.a. the third generation of gaming started in 1983 with the Japanese release of the Nintendo Family Computer and Sega. Can you guess what games inspired our 8-bit version of Fight Club? Comment below and suggest the next movie 8-bit Cinema should “gamify”.

WARNING: This substance can make quite a mess, so make it in an area that will be easy to clean up. It’s non-toxic, and perfectly ok to eat in small quantities, however, use of video content is at own risk.

Project History & More Info:

It’s a well known fact that tonic water will glow when exposed to black light.

It’s also a common experiment to mix starch powder and water to make oobleck.

I simply combined the two ideas under UV light to get this effect, however I realize I wasn’t the first one to do it.

In any case, it looks awesome if you try it, and I suspect you’ll be very happy with the result!
