By now, almost everyone in the world knows what happened to Tony Stark at the end of Avengers: Endgame. And if you don’t, well, turn back now because we are about to seriously spoil some stuff for you. When Tony made the valiant decision to end his own life in order to save the universe, fans everywhere couldn’t help but wonder about what would happen to Peter Parker in Spider Man: Far From Home. We knew that Far From Home was going to take place right after the end of Endgame, and there was no way they wouldn’t be able to address this huge shock.
Well, address it they did. Spider Man: Far From Home not only mentions the passing of Tony Stark, it is a huge plot point in the entire movie! Once again, we warn you. Spoilers ahead.
The consequences of Tony dying are all over Far From Home, and affect just about every plot point and dramatic moment that happens on screen. From the fact that Peter’s grief over the loss of his mentor is the driving force behind all of his actions, and his resistance to get back in the game, to the idea that Tony might actually be the unseen hero of the entire thing! Along with that, there’s also the idea that Tony might actually have caused every single problem in the movie, by accident of course. Far From Home even mirrors the first Iron Man movie in more ways than one, acting as a sort of send off to one of the MCU’s greatest characters. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe there is no shortage of excellent Easter Eggs, hidden comic book references, and inside jokes and the movie Spider-Man Far From Home is no exception! So let’s go over the film and point out some details you might not have noticed on your first watch through. Of course we were all excited to see Peter Parker confessing his feelings to MJ but one line of dialogue may have provided a huge hint to a major plot point. And if you thought Night Monkey was too crazy to be believable, well, we’ll introduce you to a very special graphic novel. We’ll also talk about Dmitri Smerdykov and how he’s related to one of our all-time favorite entries in Spider-Man’s rogue gallery.
Although we haven’t seen him in the MCU, there were a couple of touching tributes to the lates Uncle Ben Parker in the movie. And while Aunt May has moved on with Happy Hogan we also spotted another notable movie couple, Talos and his wife Soren from Captain Marvel! We’ll also talk about what happened to Nick Fury and Maria Hill and why Tahiti is such a magical place.
