Now that Disney have bought out Fox – and now that the eleven year, twenty-two movie Infinity Saga has come to a close – the X-Men’s arrival in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is surely imminent.
What better way to kick-off a new chapter in the incredibly popular franchise than by introducing a group of characters who all the fans have wanted to see alongside the Avengers on the big screen since day one?
But the question of how the X-Men will be introduced remains a mystery.
In this video, we’ll be going over the theory that none other than Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch will be responsible for the X-Men’s introduction in the MCU.
It stems from Olsen’s revelation that one of the posters for the upcoming WandaVision TV show sees the titular duo in the 1950s.
Given that Scarlet Witch has been shown to be very powerful in the MCU already, something might happen in the past in the show – such as Vision dying again – that triggers her to unleash her true power, which might activate mutant powers around the world.
That would then either create a new timeline in which the X-Men exist in the MCU – or, if she’s REALLY as powerful as all that, alter EVERY MCU timeline so that mutants always existed there.
