Marvel Theory: Galactus Was Thanos’s Insurance Policy

Today, we have a brand new, interesting theory to explore. After Disney’s recent merger with Fox, there has been much speculation about the integration of Fox-owned characters into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Much of this speculation has focused on the X-Men, with much less attention being devoted to the Fantastic Four and associated characters. How will Reed, Sue, Johnny, and Ben be introduced? What about their villains? Could we see Doctor Doom sometime soon? Even beyond these exciting additions, there is one character who’s introduction could have far reaching implications.

That character is Galactus.

For the uninitiated, Galactus is a Fantastic Four villain known for eating planets and having a giant goofy purple helmet. Despite his helmet’s goofiness (or maybe because of it), Galactus is a force to be reckoned with. He’s often portrayed as impossible to reason with, a galactic being too powerful to bother dealing with humans. Still, could there be someone Galactus is in league with? Is there an MCU character powerful enough to team up with him?

Enter Thanos, probably the only MCU character both smart and powerful enough to deal with Galactus. Could Thanos be using Galactus as a contingency plan, or was he acting out of fear of him?

In the full video, we cover a new theory that suggests Galactus was a part of Thanos’ plan all along, and speculate on how the purple planet-eater could be integrated into the MCU. Check out the video and let us know what you think about the theory in the comments below.
