Captain Marvel has arrived! Her feature debut has proved to be a smash hit with fans and critics alike and everyone’s excited to see what’s in store for her in Avengers: Endgame. But Captain Marvel inadvertently opened up a whole new world of questions. The film showed audiences the moment when Captain Marvel gifted Nick Fury with his super cosmic pager. This pager came into play in Avengers: Infinity War’s post-credits scene, but it left many fans scratching their heads. If Fury had the pager all this time, why did he wait until the events of Infinity War to reach out to Captain Marvel?
We dug a bit deeper to see if we could find some answers. There are a couple of feasible options. First of all, it’s possible Captain Marvel was too far out of range, fighting off cosmic forces in other galaxies. After all, she did tell Fury she could be reached if she was one or two galaxies away. But what if she was out even further than that? We took a look at some of Captain Marvel’s most popular comic book storylines too. One in particular suggests that Captain Marvel might have been lost back in time. And, of course, there’s always that pesky Quantum Realm as a possibility too. Ant-Man and the Wasp proved it was a safe-haven from Thanos’ clutches. Maybe that’s how Captain Marvel dodged the finger-snapping bullet too?
