On this episode of HOT ROD Unlimited, Elana Scherr heads up to one of the most important racetracks in drag racing history, AAA Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield, Calif. This is where it all started for many legendary California drivers, and the track is still jumping today. The NHRA Heritage series hold two of its eleven nostalgia racing events in Bakersfield, and the California Hot Rod Reunion is the final event in the series. We talk to driver Adam Sorokin about his chase for the championship in his small-block Chevy front engine top fuel dragster and meet up with one of our racing heros, Don “The Snake” Prudhomme who tells us what it takes to drive a top fuel car and why he never meant to be a jerk when you asked him for an autograph back in 1973.
