Lucy Review! – CineFix Now

We don’t know about the rest of you Internet-dwellers, but we were pretty excited to see Luc Besson’s latest, “Lucy” which is out this weekend. Does it live up to Leon? The 5th Element? Taken? Subscribe: http://goo.gl/9AGRm

In short: meh. Despite the promise of the trailers and the cred that Scarlett Johansson and Luc Besson bring to movies (especially of the action variety), it doesn’t quite make sense. Alas. Still, there’s Transporter 4-18 to look forward to!

If you want to save some time, check out the trailer: http://goo.gl/9f200D

And our reaction: http://goo.gl/3xBuIP

Are you going to see Lucy this weekend, despite our negative endorsement? Have you seen it, and want to agree or disagree with Mackenzie and Ti?

Space Engineers : Star Wars – Snow Speeder vs AT-AT

The Battle for Hoth from Star Wars is most memorable because of the Snow Speeder and the AT-AT. How does that translate to fan-made Space Engineers modeled gameplay?

With No Kurtzman & Orci, What’s Next for Spidey?!? – CineFix Now

Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman were the summer blockbuster all-star writing team until they split up earlier this year. But now the big projects that were looming in their futures may have big fat question marks after them… Subscribe: http://goo.gl/9AGRm

Roberto Orci is no longer involved with The Amazing Spider-Man 3 (and beyond) and Sony is still figuring out when (if?) these movies will get release. And while Kurtzman is still attached to write the Venom follow-up to the Sinister Six, we’re thinking those rumblings of Spider-Man rejoining the rest of the Marvel Universe may pick up ssom steam again…

More on what’s going on with the former writing power team here: http://goo.gl/xTKW76

What would you like to see next out of Orci and Kurtzman? Out of the Spider-man franchise on screen? What did you make of the revelation that Orci may not be a lock for directing Star Trek III? Are Kurtman and Orci cursed, or is Spider-Man getting franchise fatigue? Both??

Divergent is just the latest YA phenomenon to hit the big screen – but something about this movie left us hungering for more. Relive the romance, the complicated rules, and the nagging feeling that this film seems REALLY familiar.

Star Wars Episode VII Plot Rumors!! – CineFix Now

If you want to remain completely potentially UNSPOILED, don’t watch (Though this is stuff that would be in a trailer) But, if you’re curious, Clicky, clicky! Subscribe: http://goo.gl/9AGRm

Devon Faraci over at Badass Digest has stated with a decent amount of certainty that the inciting action of the film is Luke’s lightsaber (and hand) crashing into a desert planet (not Tatooine!), and the Daisy Ridley and John Boyega find it and set out to return the lightsaber to its rightful Jedi owner.

So, does this sound like a good movie premise to you? Does it irk you as much as it does Clint the egregious violations of the laws of physics that would be involved in a hand accomplishing interstellar travel? Do you think this rumor will turn out to be true at all? Or is it a J.J. Abrams misdirect?
