Voices for recovery: Shawna, Google employee

The #RecoveryMovement celebrates the 23 million Americans living in recovery from addiction. With support from Google, eight of them, ranging from a Google employee to a former White House staffer to a high schooler, shared their stories of addiction and recovery to help break the stigma and the silence associated with addiction and recovery.

This is Shawna’s story. She used employee assistance counseling sessions to identify and address problems with alcohol misuse. Now she leads workplace efforts to support people in recovery.

Recovery is possible, and stories like Shawna’s should be celebrated and shared. Learn more about how Google is supporting the recovery movement at: g.co/recovertogether

How Merkle is championing #IamRemarkable for their employees globally

The #IamRemarkable initiative from Google, empowers women and underrepresented groups to speak openly about their accomplishments and improve their self-promotion skills.
After attending an #IamRemarkable workshop, Egle Mazonaite was inspired to bring #IamRemarkable to her Merkle colleagues. During International Women’s Day 2019 Merkle employees ran over 40 workshops to more than 600 employees across the US. As a result, the company saw better performance, team cohesion and inclusion – so much so that they are now rolling the workshops out globally.
The #IamRemarkable initiative was founded by Anna Vainer in 2015. Anna is a Product Marketing Manager at Google, working from London on B2B growth marketing across EMEA.
The #IamRemarkable movement has reached over 50,000 participants across 62 countries as of July 2019.
