Business As Usual, a film by Joshua Kissi

“My film is about creating your own sense of movement, taking ownership of what you can influence, and being the author of your own story.” — Joshua Kissi on “Business As Usual,” a film he directed, starring Akwasí Baffour Owusu, to celebrate skateboarding culture, the community of Leimert Park, and a small business that helps to keep both strong.

Leimert Park is known for being the center of historical African-American art and music in LA. Neighbors Skate Shop, through the love, energy and impact of skateboarding, helps to protect and preserve that culture.

This Black History Month, with the help of Joshua Kissi and other artists, we’re celebrating Black-owned businesses through original art. Get involved by sharing their art throughout the month, giving your favorite Black-owned businesses some love on social media, and searching for Black-owned businesses on Google Maps and Search.
