Suzie Mills bravely served her country in the U.S. Air Force for eight years. Back home in Northern Virginia, she founded Honest Soul Yoga in 2013 to offer veterans and civilians alike a more holistic way to keep their bodies and spirits in healthy shape. With this special mission in mind, she has grown her studio into one of the most popular yoga studios in the area.

After learning how to make donuts online, Teresa and Arwyn left their waitressing jobs to open Glam Doll Donuts. As more donut shops started popping up around Minneapolis, the pair learned to use digital tools to bring new customers into their stores and grow their business.

Fire Dept. Coffee: Serving our heroes

Rockford firefighter Luke Schneider and his wife Kate learned to use digital tools to make the Fire Dept. Coffee website their storefront. Since then, they’ve shipped coffee all over the world and donated a portion of every order to firefighter and military charities.

Robbie’s Voice-Activated Room

Robbie has duchenne muscular dystrophy, which has left him able to control only his eyes, head and right thumb joint. Among the many challenges Robbie and his family face are his bedtime routine. For years, Robbie’s mom Carrie has set her alarm every few hours to get up and change his position in bed so he doesn’t get bed sores. Earlier this year, a sleep-deprived Carrie put out a message to the Muscular Dystrophy Association asking for help to try and find a better way. She got a response from Bill Weis, a retired tech worker, who thought he could set up Robbie’s bed to be controlled by voice activation. While working on the bed, Bill had an epiphany: if he can control the bed this way, why not everything else in Robbie’s bedroom universe?
