This is Japanese fast food at its best… good, healthy, nutritious and yummy. A bowl of steaming pork broth seasoned with miso and soy sauce poured over ramen noodles, shredded pork, beansprouts and a whole bunch of other bits. Finished with soy, mirin and sake marinated eggs… a winner all round!

Have any of you seen this ingredient? It was new to ALL of us! Although the flavour was relatively familiar, the actual mystery item was very different to the more common place fruit. That didn’t hold us back though, we used it in two ways, a gorgeous homemade marmalade and in a tower of cake decorated in a naked style!
