The 2013 Porsche 911 GT3 represents the zenith of the all-new 991 line-up, with its 3.8-litre delivering its 468bhp at a scintillating 8,250rpm. But, the 2013 GT3 is not without controversy. For a start, it’s bigger and heavier than the 997 GT3, tipping the scales at 1,430kg. But that hasn’t set the forums alight like the news there’s no manual gearbox, even as an option. Does the more civilised GT3 still represent motoring nirvana?

How do you build a supercar with the performance of a Bugatti Veyron, range of a Chevrolet Volt and emissions of a Toyota Prius? In this video, we go behind the scenes to find out how the Jaguar C-X75 was designed and engineered in collaboration with Williams. It’s powered by a 1.6-litre turbo and supercharged petrol engine as well as two electric motors, sending more than 800bhp to all four wheels. Acceleration to 100mph takes under six seconds.

Six months after Jaguar announced the C-X75 hypercar would stay as a concept car and never go into production, Autocar thought this story was dead. But then, we got a call asking us to go and drive it and find out just how far Jaguar and Williams engineering had managed to push the envelope.
