The owner fires up his 1968 Dodge Charger, which has been stored for ten years, during a pre-purchase inspection by Autocar’s senior reviewer, Lewis Kingston. The exhaust manifold gasket on one bank has had it, hence the loud tapping noise, but it runs.

Autocar uncut: Rover-BRM startup and shutdown at the 2015 Coventry MotoFest

The 2015 Coventry MotorFest show marked the return of the gas turbine-powered Rover-BRM race car to the road. Watch and listen as its engineers test the turbine prior to heading out onto the track later in the day.

The Rover-BRM’s gas turbine was claimed to produce around 150bhp, granting the car of a claimed top speed of 142mph. In 1965, at Le Mans, the car finished tenth overall and was the first British car past the chequered flag. Ongoing technical problems and a lack of funding, however, caused the project to be axed.

Audi wants to spread the word about the new RS3 and has enlisted the help of our friends at PistonHeads to promote a series of videos about the ferocious new hot hatch.

The theme behind the six films is ‘born restless,’ and this first offering suggests why that might be the case.

Trading on the fact the RS3 has a 362bhp turbocharged five-cylinder engine under its bonnet, and the shared heritage with the similar engine that powered the legendary Quattro rally car, Audi has done the obvious thing and taken the two out to a forest together.

This is the first of three videos produced by Audi, while the team at PistonHeads has been given free rein to do something spectacular for its three. We’ll share them when they are available.
