You already have an opinion on Brabus – I mean, it’s kind of hard not to. The company, founded on the principal of offering performance upgrades on high-end Mercedes-Benz has undergone somewhat of a boom in terms of both scale and ambition in recent years, shifting from enthusiasts’ darling to polarizing purveyor of luxury rides, which some see as the ‘finished
article’ and other deem to be a little much. I wanted to dig deeper on this fascinating, opinion-splitting company, so I headed to Bottrop, Germany, where I was invited to tour the factory with CEO Constantin Buschmann, before getting to drive a 900 horsepower Brabus 911 Rocket R (formerly a 992 Porsche 911 Turbo S) and the insane BRABUS XLP 900 6X6 SUPERBLACK.

Steve Dulcich joins Freiburger and Finnegan to help them rescue a stripped ’69 Plymouth Belvedere that’s been sitting stagnant. The guys bring parts, including a 426 Hemi, 4-speed trans, and Dana 60 rear-end, to the junkyard and drive out with essentially a cheaper Road Runner.
