The Wide Field Infrared Survey Telescope (WFIRST) is a planned NASA observatory for the next decade aimed to unravel the secrets of dark energy and dark matter, and explore the evolution of the cosmos. It will follow the James Webb Space Telescope and conduct surveys of the universe in the near infrared with 100 times the field of view (wide angle) of Hubble.
Find out what researchers hope to learn about the structure and evolution of the universe, star formation and the nature and variety of exo-planetary systems.
