شادية (8 فبراير 1934)، ممثلة ومطربة مصرية، تعتبر من أهم فنانات مصر ولقبها النقاد والجمهور
بدلوعة السينما. لها شقيقه تدعى عفاف شاكرعملت كممثلة ثم اعتزلت المجال الفني
تحكي شادية عن أول قصة حب في حياتها، قائلة: «تعلقت في بداية حياتي بحب رومانسي لضابط شاب من أبناء الجيران اسمه أحمد، ولم يعلم أحد بأمره، ويوم عرض الفيلم الأول لي صفق لي الجمهور وناداني لأول مرة باسم شادية، وعند عودتي إلى منزلي مع شقيقي طاهر وشقيقتي عفاف، وأنا في شدة الفرح فوجئت بخبر مؤلم، فقد مات أحمد الضابط بالجيش الذي أحببته في إحدى المعارك بحرب فلسطين عام 1948، فبكيت بكاءً حارا ، فكان أحمد هو الشخص الوحيد الذي أحببته، والذي رفضت من أجله جميع من تقدموا لخطبتي.
وأضافت: «تعرضت لهزة عاطفية عنيفة بفقدان الشخص الذي أحببته، الذي كان حبي الأول، وبدأت أتفرغ تماما للفن عله يواسيني ويخفف من أحزانى، وبدأت انتشر في عدة أعمال سينمائية خلال سنوات قليلة خصوصا بعد أن كونت ثنائيا ناجحا مع كمال الشناوي، فقدمنا خلال 5 سنوات 12 فيلما».
ظهرت موهبة شادية وهي طفلة عندما كانت تغني أغاني ليلي مراد، لكنها وجدت أمامها صورة شقيقتها عفاف شاكر حين أرادت أن تسلك طريق الفن وموقف والدها الرافض لهذا الطريق، ولجأت شادية إلى الحيلة لتكشف بها عن موهبتها، وفي أثناء زيارة أحد أصدقاء والدها منير نور الدين، وكان ملحنا ومغنيا تركيا، طلبت شادية من جدتها أن تنادي عليها فقامت «شادية» وغنت أغنية ليلى مراد «بتبص لي كده ليه» فحازت على إعجاب الجميع.
ونالت شادية إعجاب واستحسان الملحن صديق والدها، الذي تبناها وعلمها أصول المغني والطرب الشرقي، وأعطاها دروسا في كيفية نطق الألفاظ، ووصل بها إلى بداية الطريق لتمثل أول فيلم لها «أزهار وأشواك».
حكت شادية في أحد حواراتها أن من أهم المواقف في حياتها الذي لن تنساه طوال عمرها كان عند زيارتها مع والدها لمنزل أم كلثوم في صيف عام 1964 في حضور المخرج أحمد بدرخان، والغريب أنها لم تهب اللقاء والموقف وعندما طلبت منها الست أن تغنى غنت لحن القصبجي «بتبص لي كده ليه»، لتؤكد أم كلثوم أن البنت موهوبة، قائلة: «الخامة كويسة وبالاجتهاد والإخلاص ستنجح بالتأكيد.. صوت البنت يا بدرخان فيه حنان وشجن وإحساس.. ربنا معاكي يا بنتي».
ويسارع بدرخان بتوقيع عقد مع والدها على مشاركتها بالتمثيل والغناء لمدة ٥ أعوام وصرف راتب شهري قدره ٢٥ جنيهًا بعد نجاحها فىيمسابقة الوجوه الجديدة التي أقامتها مجلة «الدنيا» وتسجيل شريط صوت لفيلم «المتشردة» التي قامت ببطولته حكمت فهمي ومحسن سرحان.
وتمر الشهور ولم يستدع «بدرخان» شادية للتمثيل أو التصوير، وفي الوقت نفسه كان المخرج حلمي رفلة يستعد لتصوير فيلم جديد لمحمد فوزي، ويبحث في الوقت نفسه عن وجه جديد يغنى ويمثل، ويتذكر الوجه الجديد الذي شارك مع زميله «بدرخان» في اكتشافه من خلال مسابقة مجلة «الدنيا»، ويسأل صديقه عنها، فيخبره «بدرخان» بتأجيل مشروع الفيلم وبالتالي لم يستعن بالوجه الجديد شادية.
