ولدت سوزان أحمد بدر الدين أبو طالب ( سوسن بدر ) بالقاهرة في ا أبريل 1957، وتبلغ من العمر 58 عاما.
هى ابنة للممثلة الراحلة آمال سالم ( الخالة امونه فى ريا وسكينة )
وأكدت في لقاءاتها التليفزيونية المختلفة أنها ورثت حب الفن من والدتها،
بعد انتهائها من الثانوية العامة، انتسبت لكلية العلوم، لكن حبها للتمثيل
جعلها تترك دراستها وتتجه إلى المعهد العالي للفنون المسرحية، وتتخرج به عام 1979.
وبدأت مشوارها الفني عام 1976، أثناء دراستها في المعهد،
حيث شاركت بأدوار صغيرة في مجموعة أعمال، هي فيلمي«رجل اسمه عباس، وآسفة أرفض هذا الطلاق»، ومسلسلات «على هامش السيرة، وأحلام الفتى الطائر، وهي والمستحيل، وصرخة بريء».
شهرتها الحقيقية ومعرفة الجمهور بها جاءت عام 1980 من خلال تقديمها لبطولة الفيلم البريطاني-المصري «موت أميرة» The Death of a Princess، بمشاركة سمير صبري،
أثار هذا الفيلم ضجة عالمية كبيرة بعد عرضه الأول في بريطانيا، كما أثار غضب المملكة العربية السعودية، ما كان سببا في وضع «سوسن» على لوائح الممنوعين من دخول السعودية، ومن الظهور في التليفزيون المصري،

خسرت بسبب تلك الأزمة أدوارًا كثيرة،
ولقبت بـ«نفرتيتي السينما المصرية» خاصة أنها تتميز بملامح مصرية فرعونية، بعد ترشيح المخرج شادي عبد السلام لها لأداء دور الملكة «نفرتيتي»
في فيلمه «إخناتون.. مأساة البيت الكبير»، الذي لم يخرج للنور بسبب وفاة «عبدالسلام» عام 1986، ويصنفها النقاد والعاملون في الوسط الفني أنها ممثلة «غول» لقدرتها على تقمص شخصيات متنوعة

رشحها الفنان نور الشريف، للمخرج الراحل حسين كمال للاشتراك في فيلم «حبيبي دائما» عام 1980، وقدمت فيه دورا متميزا أظهرت خلاله امتلاكها لموهبة فنية حقيقية، ما أدى إلى تلقيها العديد من العروض لأعمال سينمائية وتلفزيونية، إلى جانب إشادة الجمهور والنقاد بها، وفقا لموقع MBC.

32. تعتبر نور الشريف أستاذها، وتقول «سوسن» لصحيفة «الحياة»: «كنت طالبة في المعهد العالي للفنون المسرحية، ورشحني الأستاذ نور الشريف للمخرج حسين كمال لتجسيد دوري في فيلم (حبيبي دائما)، وكان أول عمل سينمائي، ولم أكن أجيد التمثيل وقتها، ومع ذلك قدم لي المساعدة، لذا فأنا اعتبره أستاذي الذي تعلمت الفن بفضله، وعرفت معه معنى احترام المواعيد، وقراءة الدور».

31. وقفت أمام عادل إمام في مسرحية «الواد سيد الشغال» في أول عامين من عرضها وقبل تصويرها، وكانت تجسد دور الفتاة الثرية التي تزوجها عادل إمام وحلت بديلة لها بعد ترك المسرحية الفنانة مشيرة إسماعيل.

تعتبر «سوسن بدر» من صاحبات الرقم القياسي في عدد الأزواج، إذ تزوجت 6 مرات، بدأتها عندما كانت طالبة بمعهد الفنون المسرحية، وتزوجت أستاذها أسامة أبو طالب،

سوسن بدر…تزوجت 6 مرات ومنهم شاب يصغرها ب20 عام وممنوعة من الدخول للسعودية…!!
