تعددت محاولات سرقة جسد النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم عبر التاريخ ولكنها بفضل الله وعنايته بائـت جميعها بالفشل
وفيما يلي نستعرض أبز تلك المحاولات الآثمة

المحاولة الاولى

محاولة تبوأ إثمها ووزرها الحاكم العبيدي منصور بن نزار الإسماعيلي
وقد كان جبارا فاسقاً ، سفاكا للدماء ، وكان حاكماً لمصر
وقد أشير عليه بنقل النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم وصاحبيه من المدينة إلى مصر ، وزين له ذلك بعض الزنادقة بأنه متى قام بذلك شد الناس رحالهم من أقطار الأرض إلى مصر بدلاً من أرض الحجاز
فكلف بذلك أحد قادته ويدعى ( أبا الفتوح ) فسافر إلى بلاد الحجاز ولكن رحلته انتهت بريح كادت أن تزلزل الأرض من قوّتها، فعَرَف أبو الفتوح بأنه كان على خطأ فرجع إلى مصر تائباً

المحاولة الثانية

أيضاً بإمر من الحاكم العبيدى الملقب بـ “الحاكم بأمر الله”، إذ أرسل رجالاً فسكنوا بدارٍ قربَ المسجد النبوى، وحفروا تحت الأرض ليصلوا إلى القبر، فاكتشف النّاس أمرَهم فقتلوهم

المحاولة الثالثة

خطط لها بعض الملوك المسيحيين، ونفذها اثنان من المغاربة عام 557 هـ فى عهد السلطان نور الدين زنكى
رأى السلطان نور الدين رحمه الله في نومه النبيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وهو يشير إلى رجلين أشقرين ويقول : أنجدني ، أنقذني من هذين
فأجتمع السلطان بوزرائه وقرر أن يجمع أهل المدينة المنورة كلهم ليعطيهم من الصدقات , فجمعوا له فأخذ ينظر فيهم ويبحث عن الصفات التى رأها فى منامه فلم يجدها
فقال : هل بقي أحد لم يأخذ شيئا من الصدقة ؟
فقالوا : لم يبق أحد إلا رجلين لا يتناولان من أحد شيئا ، وهما صالحان غنيان يكثران من الصدقة على المحاويج
فأمر بهما فجيئا بهما إليه وبإستجوابهما وجد انهما قد خططا لنبش قبر النبى وكانا يحفران سرداباً يصل إلى الحجرة المباركة ، فأمر بهما فقُتلا. بعد ذلك أمر نور الدين زنكى ببناء خندق رصاصى متين حول القبور الثلاثة منعاً لأى محاولة سرقة
