ولدت ميرفت أمين عام 1946 في محافظة المنيا
اسمها الحقيقي ميرفت محمد مصطفى أمين
ولدت ميرفت أمين لأب مصري وأم اسكوتلندية
حاصلة على ليسانس آداب من جامعة عين شمس حيث بدأت التمثيل على مسرح الجامعة
اكتشفها للسينما الفنان أحمد مظهر عندما شاهدها
تعمل في كافيتيريا ووقع معها عقد احتكار بأجر 150 جنيه شهرياً لشركة الإنتاج الخاصة به
أول أعمالها هو فيلم “نفوس حائرة” عام 1968 من إخراج أحمد مظهر
شاركت العندليب الأسمر عبد الحليم حافظ آخر أفلامه “أبي فوق الشجرة” عام
1969
تزوجت أول مرة عام 1970 من المطرب السوري موفق بهجت ولكن لم يطل زواجهما بسبب قضية مخدرات تورط بها
تزوجت ملك الجيتار عمر خورشيد ثم انفصلت عنه
تزوجت رجل الأعمال مصطفى سيد الصاوي ثم انفصلت عنه لدى شعورها باستغلاله شهرتها
تزوجت الفنان محمود قابيل ولكنها لم تستمر معه لوقت طويل
زواجها الخامس كان أشهر زيجاتها وهو من الفنان حسين فهمي الذي أنجبت منه ابنتها الوحيدة منة الله حسين فهمي
زواجها من حسين فهمي كان في مشهد من فيلم “مكالمة منتصف الليل” عام 1978 من إخراج حلمي رفلة ثم عادا معاً لمنزل الزوجية
انفصلت عن حسين فهمي عام 1986 بسبب تعاظم الخلافات الزوجية والفنية بينهما
تزوجت للمرة السادسة من المنتج الفلسطيني حسين القلا الذي تعرفت عليه أثناء عملها في فيلم “زوجة رجل مهم” عام 1987 ثم انفصلت عنه
آخر زيجاتها كانت من رجل الأعمال مصطفى
البليدي الذي قدم لها مهر شقة في جزيرة العرب ورصيد مليون جنيه وطقم ألماس فاخر وتم الزفاف في العجمي بحفل اسطوري ليتنهي بالطلاق بعد فترة
قدمت أكثر من 150 عمل في السينما وتلفزيون آخرها كان “بتوقيت القاهرة” مع الراحل نور الشريف
حملت ميرفت أمين لقب “قطة الشاشة الفضية” وهو لقب أطلق عليها بعد فيلم “حافية على جسر الذهب” عام 1976
