Game Boy Player Review

I review the Game Boy Player for the Nintendo GameCube.

In 2003 Nintendo released the Game Boy Player DOL-017, an add-on for the Nintendo GameCube that allowed you to play Game Boy (GB), Game Boy Color (GBC) and Game Boy Advance (GBA) games through the GameCube on your TV. The Game Boy Player plugs into the parallel port on the bottom of the GameCube and allows you to insert Game Boy games into the Player and boot the GameCube with the use of the included disc.

D3Live: iPod touch 5G and iOS 5

In this episode of D3Live I talk about the iPod touch 5G and iOS 5.

With the year rapidly moving along I think it’s about time to take a look at the iPod touch 5G as well as the next major iteration of iOS, iOS 5. The next generation 2011 iPod touch should be a moderate upgrade and include the Apple A5 processor from the iPad 2, a better camera, perhaps a larger 3.7 inch display and a new redesign. The iPod touch 5 release date is typically is expected to be September 2011 however it may be delayed due to the iPhone 5 delay.

iOS 5.0 is also coming soon and should be on the iPod touch 5G. iOS 5 should have several key improvements including deeper OS level support for social networks such as Facebook and Twitter, likely to be dubbed FriendStream. Other possible additions include widget support and a new UI.

D3Live is a weekly show I do live every Saturday at 3PM Eastern time live on BlogTV. If you are interested in asking me questions for the video or just watching the show live keep an eye out as I will post a video here on YouTube before I begin. http://www.blogtv.com/people/duncan33303

iPhone App Store vs Android Market

I compare the iPhone App Store vs the Android Market.

Apps are a huge part of buying any smartphone and so is the way you get them. Apple with the iPhone and iPod touch App Store has a very different way of doing it compared to Google and the Android Market so today I compare both to help determine which is the best for you including the the selection of apps, the pricing and the interface to access the store.

3-D Rendezvous with Interacting Galaxies Arp 273

This image of rose-shaped galaxy pair Arp 273 was released in celebration of Hubble’s 21st anniversary. Curious what it might look like to a passing space traveler? This special 3-D video takes you in close to the large spiral and its smaller companion galaxy.

Arp 273 lies in the constellation Andromeda and is roughly 300 million light-years away from Earth. It’s made up of a large spiral galaxy, known as UGC 1810, with a disk that is distorted into a rose-like shape by the gravitational pull of the companion galaxy below it, known as UGC 1813. A swath of blue, jewel-like points across the top is the combined light from clusters of intensely bright and hot young blue stars.

The smaller, nearly edge-on companion galaxy shows distinct signs of intense star formation at its nucleus, perhaps triggered by the encounter with the larger galaxy.
